Introducing: Future Active Workforce.
Future Active Workforce was born from a passion to increase physical activity and wellbeing within all communities, especially underrepresented groups in our society.
Our vision is to educate and grow a skilled and professional workforce, all of whom will play their part in encouraging the nation to enjoy the benefits of regular activity.
Elaine Briggs is the Managing Director of Future Active Workforce and has over 20 years of experience in health and fitness education. Elaine is also the Director of Education, Training and Innovation at award-winning training provider Future Fit Training and is recognised as a leading voice within the industry, steering and contributing to the future direction of the fitness sector. Working alongside her fellow Director Sian Roberts, and expert consultants Rob Johnson and Rich Millard, who also bring an enormous combined wealth of experience, Future Active Workforce was created to lead creative and inspiring projects which aim to benefit and improve the health of the nation as a whole.
Elaine has a deep understanding of the value in upskilling and developing our workforce and a desire to ensure that all coaches, trainers and activators are equipped with the skills to motivate and inspire each person and community they work with. Over the years, Elaine has spearheaded some inspiring initiatives such as the Legacy Awards and Raising the Bar working group (you can read more about those here) both of which are driven by a desire to empower individuals to contribute to a more skilled and professional workforce and champion the importance of giving back to all members of society.
More recently, Elaine has been working with her team on developing a School of Health which highlights the importance of health when prescribing fitness, ensuring that our workforce considers each person they work with from an holistic approach, providing guidance and support on all areas of lifestyle in order to improve overall health and wellness.
So now with a dedicated organisation which has the sole purpose of giving back to the community, improving the skills of our workforce and spreading the passion for being healthy and active, Future Active Workforce is perfectly placed to help overcome many of the challenges and inequalities which often impact on people’s health.
Future Active Workforce is a not for profit organisation which aims to enhance and improve learning and development of the health and physical activity sector. We believe our purpose is to develop new and innovative ways to educate and engage the workforce, and as a result, equip organisations and support initiatives to deliver inclusive services to all individuals. Future Active Workforce champion inclusivity and diversity, we want to overcome inequalities in our sector, create opportunities and set out pathways to make health physical activities accessible to everyone in our communities.
By developing innovative training solutions for articulating the key health benefits of increased activity, and education around mental health, we'll deliver a holistic approach to adapting and expanding the provision of health and physical activity.
